MIGRANT

Commissioned for a group exhibition entitled "Une traversée de l'imaginaire", Migrant was conceived as a meditation on the general theme of the exhibition - the place of the Lachine Canal in the urban topography of Montreal. Migrant, a work reflective of the actions and purpose of the lock system of the canal, is a large construction where the panels are graduated in depth, as well as the surface, which covers in steps the underlying repeated image until it is obscured by it's progress in either direction. The image is changed by the passage, not the place.
